School Council is the elected group of parents/carers and teachers in charge of developing policies for governance of the school. It is the governing body of the school and operates within the Education Act and Regulations. School Council meets at least eight times each year. Meetings are announced in the newsletter and half of the council is elected annually. School Council is an important component of our school. Parents/carers are invited to find out about the School Council and nominate if they wish to become involved.
A well-informed and effective School Council can strengthen and positively impact a school in many ways. Anglesea Primary School values the input from our School Council members and appreciate the parent voice and perspective that is shared at each of our meetings.
If you would like to be involved in Anglesea Primary School’s School Council, nominations are generally open in February/March each year. School Council members usually hold their positions for terms of two years.
There are approximately 8 School Council meetings each year plus a Public Reporting Meeting, at which all members of the school community are invited to attend. Meetings are held on a Wednesday, commencing at 5:30pm.

At Anglesea, our School Council value all feedback received from our school community. One of the ways in which we offer the collection of feedback is via our ‘Feedback Portal’. Anyone wishing to leave feedback regarding Anglesea Primary School can do so via the link below. This can be done anonymously if desired. All feedback will be accessed in the week prior to the next School Council meeting in either Week 3 or Week 8 each term.
