School Captain and Vice Captains
Our student leadership team is led by our Gr6 School Captains and Vice Captains. At the beginning of Gr6 our students prepare and present a speech to their peers, Teachers and Principals to explain how they can represent their peers and school community and contribute to the achievement of our school’s values and goals.
School Captain show responsibility, confidence, and pride in their school, and works closely with other leaders.
Values Leader
The Values Leader promotes the school’s values such as kindness, respect, inclusion, and responsibility. They help others understand what the values look like in action and support a positive school culture.
Student Voice Leader
The Student Voice Leader listens to students’ ideas and opinions and helps share them with teachers and school leaders. This role supports fairness, communication, and making sure students feel heard. This team plays an important role in decision making proceses that impact all student.
This includes having student voice and input into aspects such as improvement to be made to play spaces and learning environments. Student voice is not simply about giving students the opportunity to communicate ideas and opinions; it is about students having the power to influence change
House Captain
At Anglesea Primary School we have four houses based on Wadawurrung words, Wiyn (fire), Warri (Sea), Mirri (Sun) and Murran (bush). Each house is led by Gr6 students and they plan an important role in leading and uniting each house at various times throughout the year including.
They encourage teamwork, fair play, and participation during sports days and house events, showing enthusiasm and house pride.
Sustainability & FEAST Leader
The Sustainability & FEAST Leader oversee the management of waste and sustainable practisces leading to promoting care for the environment and responsible food choices. They support the school garden, help manage recycling, rubbish and food scrap bins, and encourage reducing food waste.
They also promote saving energy by reminding students to turn off lights, screens and appliances when not in use. This role supports sustainability initiatives and food programs such as FEAST and OzHarvest, helping the school community make positive choices for the future.
